Do You Know Why Jean Schuler Baked Two Turkeys?
We have our own favorite memories and stories about Thanksgiving from the Schuler family, too. Many years ago, Hans’ family home was behind the restaurant. The restaurant was running out of turkey for their guests. As Hans shared, “My Father, Win, came to the house and took the turkey my mother, Jean Schuler, was cooking for our family out of the oven. He took it back to the restaurant to serve to the hungry guests.” Hans went on to share that Win did bring back a ham, but Jean was very disappointed with the ham. He added, “every year after that my Mom baked two turkeys.”
