(MARSHALL, Mich)—Schuler’s Restaurant & Pub in downtown historic Marshall has announced the promotion of Joe Caron to General Manager of its iconic Michigan eatery.
Joe has been with the company – one of Michigan’s longest-operating restaurants – for over 10 years, most recently serving as Restaurant Manager. Over the years, Joe demonstrated his desire to lead Schuler’s into the future by following what has been named the “Schuler Way” – going above and beyond to deliver an unparalleled customer experience on all levels and leading his team by example.
“I couldn’t be more pleased with Joe’s leadership through our Covid pandemic year,” Sue Damron, President and CEO. “His background brings so many levels of experience that have prepared him for this leadership position. Our guests love Joe, and he brings a great deal of comfort to their dining experience especially during this unique time in our history. They know, as I do, that they can count on him for a true Schuler experience.”
As General Manager, a typical day for Joe involves connecting with guests and managing the front of the house service team. Every day he strives to look for greatness while remaining grateful, and that serves him well here at Schuler’s, where we evolve and adapt to the times. If you know Joe, you also know he places a significance on the importance of tradition, here and throughout the community.
“I make it a point to check in around the various areas of the restaurant with my team members and make sure that they’re in the loop on all of our upcoming events, along with our vision for providing guests with the best Schuler experience,” he says. “Doing things the ‘Schuler Way’ has been a rich tradition that has helped the restaurant maintain its historical roots, but also adapt to the future and I am honored to be part of that heritage.”
Joe is an active member of the local Marshall community as well. In 2018, he was elected as the city’s Mayor and was a City Council member prior to that. He is also a member of the Marshall Rotary Club, as well as a core team member of Marshall’s Youngish Professionals Committee. Joe enjoys spending time with family and friends, hanging out with his dog Bernie, going to live concerts, traveling and working on home improvement projects.
