While we take the cake on coordinating beautiful wedding receptions and rehearsal dinners that take place indoors (just check out a virtual tour of our banquet rooms to see what we mean!), there are a few local gems we love to work with when it comes to outdoor or rustic wedding reception venues. Anyone can turn a backyard into a celebration space, but the places listed below are unique in their location, overall look and appeal, customer service, and more. We would highly recommend giving them a call!
A multi-purpose event venue in a country setting, Dreamfield Acres is ideal for intimate weddings. With a turn-of-the-century barn serving as reception headquarters, it is rustic elegance at its finest. Cool furnishings, funky accents, and modern amenities make this space stand apart from the pack. The venue includes a beautiful barn, an outdoor ceremony space, ceremony arbor, benches, sweetheart tables, conversational seating area, cake table, wedding party tables, and guest seating for up to 175 people. Beyond the venue, Dreamfield Acres can also help you coordinate photography, videography, music, DJ, and wedding day coordination. It’s a must-see magical place!
The history behind this venue is outstanding. Greencrest was constructed as the private home of George R. Burt, a prominent member of Battle Creek, who wanted to build a manor overlooking St. Mary’s Lake. As the property was purchased, Burt passed away, but his widow completed the structure in an authentic French-Normandy style, surrounding it with gorgeous formal gardens fit for any wedding ceremony. After changing hands throughout the years, the current owners of Greencrest Manor renovated and reopened the building to the public in 1989. This space can easily accommodate up to 200 guests with tents set up on the terrace and lawns. The manor house serves as the perfect backdrop to a ceremony. And guests are invited to explore the historic grounds, gardens, fountains, and the interior of the Manor itself.
Located in Olivet, MI, Old Indian Creek Farms provides brides and grooms with a beautiful, rustic setting that’s simply gorgeous for your wedding. Get lost in the superior scenery and service. Beautiful landscaping surrounds the grounds, including a rustic, but incredibly clean barn that serves as the centerpiece. The onsite staff works extremely hard to ensure every detail is covered and happily partners with couples to understand the exact look and feel they’re going for, then they make the magic happen for your special day!
Located in East Leroy, MI, this intimate setting has been part of the Bolton family since 1937. The farm has evolved over the years, becoming the jaw-dropping space that it is today and made for memories. The grain barn is a unique half-cylinder structure that’s equipped with bulb lighting throughout and a hanging chandelier. It can accommodate up to 200 guests and is incredibly unique. The corn crib is a rustic wooden structure that was formally used to store corn. Today, this covered structure is used as a space to dance, dine, and mingle. It’s dressed in bulb lighting and chiffon drapery – great for a cocktail hour or semi-covered reception. An outdoor garden, small pond, and fountain set the perfect scene for an outdoor ceremony; that coupled with Res-Les Farm’s distinct barns and celebration spaces make this location highly sought after and special.
