Make Schuler’s a Stop on the 54th Annual Historic Marshall Home Tour

Marshall Home Tour Weekend at Schuler's Restaurant Blog Image

This weekend, be sure to take advantage of the Historic Marshall Home Tour. This annual home tour is one of the most popular in the Midwest – and the longest running!

Marshall’s proud legacy of preservation is highlighted this year including:

  • Six private residences with each home representing a different architectural style — Gothic Revival, Cottage, Italianate, Second Empire, Queen Anne, and Craftsman.
  • Seven museums — Honolulu House, Marshall Historical Museum at the GAR Hall, Capitol Hill School, American Museum of Magic, U.S. Postal Service Museum, Governor’s Mansion, and Walter’s Gasoline Museum
  • A juried fine arts and crafts fair on the Honolulu House Museum grounds both days.

With free parking both downtown and at the Calhoun County Fairgrounds (along with free shuttle buses) this event is a must-do. But that’s not all. If you consider yourself a local history buff, this excursion, coupled with lunch or dinner at Schuler’s Restaurant, makes for the perfect weekend pairing.

Come for the food, but stay for the story.

Local Marshall history is near and dear to our hearts – and it should be. Schuler’s has been family owned and operated since 1909, and our own story is very much intertwined with the town we call home. We are part of the 3%; that’s the percentage of family businesses that survive past the fourth-generation, and owe that resiliency to both our ability to build a 100-year old tradition of fine dining and the vibrant community that surrounds us.

Our roots run deep, and before you come to visit this weekend, take a moment to learn the history behind Schuler’s Restaurant and our evolution both as a family and a business. Don’t worry, we did the research already. (We’re history buffs too!)
